His father and advisor Hans shares a close relationship with Bayern chief Uli Hoeness, and they have reportedly discussed a potential move for the player, whose current contract runs until 2027. The two German clubs are now set to negotiate a deal in the coming weeks for Wirtz, who has a €125 million (£106m/$142m) release clause.
